Care Services
Galtres provides long term EMI care services for elderly people over the age of 65 specialising for those with dementia. We have a team of District Nurses who visit our home when required; however we do not provide direct nursing care.
General Facilities
The home accommodates 20 residents in pleasantly decorated rooms and has two lounges, a television lounge with an open plan dining room adjoining and a lounge with music and literature which opens out into a large conservatory room. The home is cleaned on a daily basis by our domestic team. We pride ourselves on maintaining the building and environment to a high standard. Laundry and housekeeping is included in our fees.
Room Facilities
We have 14 single rooms, and 3 companion rooms. All rooms have washing facilities and some are ensuite. A staff call system is within all rooms. We welcome personal furniture and possessions always hoping to give you a home away from home.
Meals
Interesting and varied meals are provided by specialised catering staff. Choice is offered at each mealtime, snacks and drinks are encouraged and available day and night and specialised diets are catered for.
We assist residents with feeding and give variety and choice at all times. Visitors are welcome to join residents for meals.
Garden
We have two well established gardens one with patio and bird station to the front of the home for residents to sit and enjoy and a secure sensory garden to the rear with raised flower beds and pathways which enable our residents to walk around in safety and suitable for wheel chairs.
Safety and Specialist Features
A pleasant temperature is maintained throughout the home by Central heating with individual thermostatic controlled radiators, along with the correct ventilation. To keep all residents safe, a full fire detection and alarm system is maintained and fully compliant with regulations. Lifting and bathing aids ensure all residents’ individual needs are met and further equipment is provided by an Occupational Therapist and District Nurses.
I am really very grateful for all the love and patience and care you gave my mother. We were very lucky to find you. It’s reassuring to know how much you cared for her as a person. I am only sorry that my circumstances made it hard for me to be more supportive of her and you particularly in the last few months. Thank you so much for all you have done.
